A Short List of Lessons Learned So Far in 2014
True to the 2014 Manifesto, I have not been idle this year. Some lessons learned thus far:
-
Even the most basic deployment set-up can take a lot of thought, effort and time. If this is your first, then this is doubly true.
-
In a good technology company, your peers should be your greatest technical resource. Ask questions - lots of them.
-
Economic freedom, at least in the United States, comes either from having significant capital or from running your own company.
-
No deal is done until it's done.
-
There are both fair- and poor-weather friends. Surround yourself with people who are both.
-
Pay attention both to what people say, and to how they act. Good people are usually consistent in both.
-
Never stop sowing new seeds.
